God Bless the Girl
No shading this week. Thought I’d see how it looks without it and, I gotta say, not bad. The shading is the biggest time sucker on the tones so not doing them helps.
In regards to that, however, I AM looking into getting a colorist to help me with the pages and maybe go back and color all of my B&W pages. I guess we’ll see!
Nice action shot, and the sideboob in panel 3 is a very nice little touch – flirty but not over-the-top. Expanding your toolkit, I see. 🙂
I do see one minor flaw though – the Hawkgirl look-alike was standing in front of the doors while talking to Mercury (think I got that right?) but in the action shot in panel 2 there’s noone at the doors. At first I thought maybe she moved off-screen but she’s back in the same spot when we get to panel 4. Oops?
BTW, I like how the group appears to be more predominantly female then most we’ve seen in superhero comicdom, and none of them appear to be airheaded or over-sexualized as certain boob-windowed or nymphomaniacal ones we’ve seen (yeah, I’m talking about YOU, Powergirl and Starfire!).
Thank you for showing a “strong” female character doesn’t mean they must obsess about sex or are man-haters. That stereotype really annoys me.
yeah, I realized it when I started toning and just didn’t have time to fix it. maybe later today…
