Five Years
New page! Isn’t that pretty? I love the idea of a superhero being lectured like a petulant child.
I should have a new wallpaper up for the Patreon patrons by next week and I’m working on a SFW wallpaper I can put on the site for voting and donation.
Also I’m going to be making my first public appearance with Gregor in July! I’ll be attending the 2014 Alt Press Fest here in Salt Lake City. The Alt Press Fest will happen on July 12, from 12–5pm in the Urban Room of the Main Library on 400s and 200e. I’ll have some prints and will be doing some sketches. I’ve also been told I’ll have power at my table so I’ll have a little laptop with the site loaded up as well as the Kickstarter for Volume 1.
I’m also working on getting my shit together in time for the Salt Lake Comic Con September 4-6 at the Salt Palace Convention Center. More details to follow!
I’m pretty sure Jupiter would have rather been punched in the face.
Getting shielded in the face doesn’t count?
It’s the superhero equivalent of “stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!”
YES! omg, that felt good.
Gregor is a master words smith. Also i think Jupiter’s yellow undies are now brown.
I wouldn’t ask for an autograph.
Gregor, hero of the common man. That might work as a title for him.
This makes me think back to an old Spiderman comic where Spidey gets pissed off and goes after JJ Jameson and in the ensuing argument Jonah makes it clear to the wallcrawler that it wasn’t anything malevolent or even business – he just hated vigilantes in general and that’s all he saw Spiderman as, regardless of his intent.
Sort of the same thing here – don’t care what your intent was, you failed miserably and you wouldn’t even be the one to pay the price for your failure. World’s better off without you, then.
I like Jonah’s reason for hating Spider-Man in Ultimate continuity: his son was an astronaut, a hero, who burned up on reentry and people calling Spider-Man a hero just rubs salt in the wound.
Frankly, I sometimes wish they could just pick a reason for his illogical hatred (redundant statement, that. moving on) and stick with it. In any of the handful of continuities I’ve gotten into (not THAT many; circumstances prevent me from getting the actual comic books, have to wait for the collected prints if I’m interested in one), JJJ always has a different reason, and the old ones (no capital letters, so no jokes please) were sometimes silly. In recent times they’ve gotten a lot better, at least.
I always forget about alt press fest considering I only live about 5 blocks from the library. But this time I have put it on the calendar So I don’t forget.
sweet!
The lecture..jj Gregor style. Nice work going all out…so where is the rest of the planetary society!? They need this stern lecture too…cept Venus who disappeared the whole time, what gives Tyler!?
Funny you should mention Venus…
you’re a talented fella!
Ain’t you sweet! I knew there was a reason I married you.
This has been on my mind. Jupiter’s symbol on his chest. its a brown cloud with a lightning bolt. So is Jupiter’s symbol a “Shit-Storm”?
Pannel four: is it me or does Jupiter look like hes about to cry
I was just about to say that. Haha. Yeah.
a-a-a-a-all I wanted to do was…l-l-l-l-lead a super team and be a HERO! /runs off crying
Loved this storyline! It’s about time the ‘heroes’ faced some consequences, even if it’s just a stern lecture. It’s one of the reasons I love GrrlPowerComic as well.
BTW, I just noticed (on about the 20th re-read) the name of the bank. Seinfeld FTW!!
Hurray! Someone gets me!
that’s why i liked the comic the boys, though they went way down that spectrum (i think a lecture would have been enough, but they went w/eradication).
The problem I had with The Boys was that it seems like every superhero was an insufferable prick. I get the feeling Garth is not a fan of Super Heroes.
See this is why the Avengers have Government issues
